Women of Worship
Community Ministry

“Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus”

At the Women of Worship Ministry Center, we’re not just a group of women; we are warriors on a mission to discover the strength that emerges when you fully understand your identity in Christ. You are the masterpiece of an almighty God and your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Women of Worship Community Ministry Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

To serve women in our community by:

  • Empowering them to live whole and healthy lives, helping them to gain strength and confidence in their identity in Christ as a daughter of the King
  • Encouraging them through the Word, worship, and fellowship
  • Supporting them in their needs (spiritual, emotional, and physical)
  • Helping them grow in relationship with Jesus and one another
  • Many women in our community feel isolated, overwhelmed, or lacking support
  • Women often carry heavy responsibilities in family, work, and faith
  • We believe God has called us to come alongside them with hope, help, and healing

This ministry is not about one church—it’s about the Body of Christ coming together.

  • Churches uniting to meet needs in the community
  • Breaking down walls of division
  • Working together for God’s Kingdom
  • Monthly Women of Worship Gatherings: Word, worship, fellowship, and food
  • Prayer & Support Teams: Meeting spiritual and practical needs
  • Community Outreach: Meals, resources, and events that bless women and families
  • Retreats & Workshops: Spiritual growth, health, and wellness
  • Prayer Covering: Commit to praying for this ministry and the women we serve
  • Participation: Encourage your women to attend gatherings and retreats
  • Partnership: Join hands in outreach projects and events
  • Provision: Support with resources, space, or volunteers

Our Heartbeat

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:27

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in Whitley City and beyond.

Veronica Stephens, Founder/Director

I was born and raised in McCreary County and am a devoted follower of Christ, a wife, and a member of Three Strands Church. I love spending time with family and my fur babies and am passionate about serving and uplifting women in my community. With a heart for ministry and a calling to empower others, I founded Women of Worship Community Ministry to provide a place of hope, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Through my leadership, the ministry focuses on uniting churches, supporting women in their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs, and creating opportunities for fellowship, worship, and wellness. I believe that every woman deserves to experience God’s love, healing, and purpose in her life.

My vision is simple yet powerful: to help women connect with Jesus, grow in faith, and thrive in community. I am committed to walking alongside women, offering guidance, prayer, and practical support as they navigate the challenges of daily life.

Meet Our Leadership Team

Our dedicated team brings passion, expertise, and heart to serve women in McCreary County with excellence and compassion.

Candice Greene Slavey

Fundraising Coordinator

I was raised in McCreary County and I’m grateful to call it home. As a devoted wife and mother of five, I bring my love for Jesus and my heart for serving others into every area of my life.

I have a passion for community, and I find joy in giving my time to fundraising and volunteering to support the mission of Women of Worship.

With my dedication, creativity, and commitment to seeing lives impacted for Christ, I’m committed to helping the ministry grow and thrive. I draw on my faith, servant’s heart, and love for people to serve both the team and the community.

Deborah Hansford

Board Member

I am a wife, mother, and Nana. I came to McCreary County 48 years ago when I married Darrell Hansford. I love Christian music of all kinds and currently play keyboard for our praise and worship team at Three Strands Church.

Mission work holds a special place in my heart. I have traveled to Cuba on two separate occasions to serve, and I spend every summer doing missions around the country. When I’m not traveling for ministry, I enjoy cooking and baking.

Donna Lovell

Board Member

I am the wife of Aaron Lovell, as well as a mother and grandmother of three beautiful girls. I am a member of Three Strands Church and love being a part of the Women of Worship ministry. I enjoy fun in the sun, swimming, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and taking care of my chickens. I have lived in McCreary County since 1995 and love my community.

Kristina McFeeters

Board Advisor

I’m a dedicated pastor’s wife and the former owner of Kristina’s Kitchen in McCreary County, where I combined my love for hospitality, health, and community.

Today, I serve as a mentor with Women of Worship, encouraging women to live out their faith with strength and purpose. With years of experience in ministry, business, and discipleship, I’m passionate about walking alongside women, helping them grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally. I bring my leadership, wisdom, and compassion to the Women of Worship team.
